About Jeff Lowe
Lifelong Iowan • Lifelong Traveler • Founder, My Travel Source
I’m Jeff Lowe. For more than 30 years, my wife, Colleen, and I have shared a love of travel that has taken us on countless trips and ultimately inspired the creation of My Travel Source.
Along the way, I’ve visited the majority of U.S. states—with Hawaii being a repeat favorite—along with Mexico, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, the Bahamas, South Korea, and several destinations throughout Central America.
Beyond simply visiting new places, I’ve always taken the lead in planning our trips—from building budgets and mapping out itineraries to researching logistics, comparing destinations, and organizing everything from transportation to accommodations. That hands-on experience is what shaped the way I think about travel and the kind of guidance I aim to provide here.
I created My Travel Source as a place to share destination inspiration, practical travel insights, and ideas that help people make the most of every trip. I personally oversee all content on the site—choosing article topics, shaping the direction of each guide, and ensuring everything reflects the clarity, usefulness, and friendly tone I want the site to be known for.
Whether I’m sharing insights based on places I’ve visited myself or destinations I’ve researched in depth for the site, my goal is to provide information that’s well-organized, trustworthy, and genuinely helpful for travelers of all experience levels.
From classic road trips to tropical getaways, Colleen and I continue to explore new places whenever we can. My Travel Source is where I share the lessons, inspiration, and ideas that have shaped our travels, along with new insights I enjoy curating for fellow travelers.
